The opening speech is a 10-minute performance opening up the first research show by TECHNE students at Chelsea College of Art. By highlighting the importance of visibility of practice-based research in the academic context as well as gender equality in leading positions in institutions, the opening speech addresses how structures within the University are responding to contemporary flows and motions in cultural production. Here the focus is to present the institution as a facilitator of making knowledge flow instead of being its immobile container.
